Jose Luis Peleaz is a Cuban-born contemporary artist who works primarily in mixed media.

Born in Havana, Cuba, Jose completed his education at Cooper Union in Manhattan, New York. Initially a sculptor, he found resonance with photography and illustration during his time as a student, embarking upon a prolific 20 year career. His work has been featured in publications including The Economist, Town & Country, and Elle Magazine.

Recently, his illustrative work has provoked further exploration in mixed media materials including acrylic, pastel, and pencil. The natural world, complexity of textures, and playfulness in the spontaneity of creation are endlessly inspiring to him.
